I’ve spoken at many conferences and events over the years, as well as hosting guest lectures and providing mentorship to students. I’ve also organised esports events and have listed some examples below.
UK esports watch parties and networking events
In late 2022 I organised three sold-out events including the Esports News UK 7th birthday networking event, a League of Legends Worlds final viewing party and Christmas esports gathering at London’s Platform bar, each with 100+ guests.
This led to more events in 2023, 2024 and 2025:
- 2023 UK esports spring party
- LoL Worlds 2023 viewing party
- ENUK 8th birthday party with Epic.LAN
- IEM Katowice 2024 viewing party in London
- IEM Katowice 2025 watch party in London
If you’re a brand interested in becoming a headline partner for a future event of mine, or want me to moderate a panel or quiz or give a talk on esports/journalism at your event, please get in touch.
Digital Schoolhouse

I have covered the student esports initiative of UK games industry trade body Ukie for several years now.
As well as this, I judge their student journalism competition, with the winners’ articles being published on Esports News UK, and I also give talks to the students about esports journalism and careers in the games industry.
This has been an inspiring project, and made national headlines one year with the BBC.
League of Legends NLC finals
I’ve covered many League of Legends events over the years, but the NLC Winter 2025 finals in Nottingham was special, as it featured meet and greets with all-star team Los Ratones, a viewing party for the NLC and LEC finals, and lots of personalities in attendance.
I also hosted a quiz to hundreds of esports fans at Notts County FC’s The Nest venue, as well as covering the NLC finals.
Esports Insider conferences

The team at industry publication Esports Insider have kindly invited me to be a part of panels and moderate discussions over the years at their events including ESI London.
You can watch some of these panels here:
- ESI London: UK esports – it’s coming home? (October 2018)
- Building on the biggest year in UK esports history (October 2019)
- The UK esports scene (September 2022)
Norwich Games Festival 2025
I put together a panel on esports careers at the 2025 festival, featuring a mix of esports talent such as Affinity, Hazza, Joe Brady and Gregan. It was really well-received and a YouTube video of the esports careers panel at Norwich Games Festival 2025 can be found here:
Grassroots esports panel at EGX
I moderated a panel on grassroots esports in the UK at EGX in 2017. This took place on the Twitch stage and was livestreamed too.
Guest lectures at universities and colleges

I have been invited to give several guest lectures on esports journalism at various schools, colleges and universities. These include the University of Chichester, Staffordshire University, West Suffolk College, the NextGen Skills Academy and more.
One of my more memorable talks was for Oldham College students at the Manchester City Academy in late 2025:

Back in spring 2022, I worked closely with West Suffolk College to arrange a host of esports industry talks for them, as part of my esports consultancy offering. I also interviewed West Suffolk College about their esports plans.
I’ve also spoken to students at Bournemouth University, Southampton Solent University (see more on my recent talk on the future of esports here), College of Esports (pictured below, alongside streamer and caster Foxdrop), Birmingham City University and more.

Elsewhere, staff at the Uni of Chichester ask me back each year to help moderate their third year student esports broadcast day, and offer feedback to students.
You can read more about my first lecture at the University of Chichester here, and read an article and watch a video interview from the 2023 Chichester esports day here.
Student mentorship: NSE’s Intel FutureGen Buddy Programme

National Student Esports (NSE), a UK-based university esports body, has been running the Intel FutureGen buddy scheme for a few years now, and has asked me to be a part of this several times.
In this scheme, university students are paired with members of the esports industry, who give them advice, counsel and mentorship. I’ve enjoyed being a part of this and am passionate about using my experience to help mentor the next generation of esports talent.
London Games Festival
I moderated a panel discussing the esports talent pipeline at London Games Festival in 2022, as part of ‘The Next Level’ series of talks.
This included guests from Faceit (Giulia Zecchini), Tundra Esports (Danny Lopez) and Digital Schoolhouse (Shahneila Saeed).
I also helped organise an esports showcase event on the opening night of London Games Festival 2024. You can see more in this video.
UK Esports Awards

I co-founded the UK Esports Awards back in 2018 with Adam ‘Blanks’ Heath, an event recognising talent in the UK esports scene. Year 1 was a success and it was a lot of fun, but with so much else on my plate, I decided to step away from the team later in 2018. There’s more info on that here.
How to get a career in esports
I hosted a panel in 2019 giving advice on how to turn your passion into a profession at EGX. The panel was formed of a number of UK esports experts, including Excel Esports co-founder Kieran Holmes-Darby. You can watch it in full above.
PCR Boot Camp
This is an expo and conference event for resellers in the PC and tech industry in the UK. As editor, I was required to lead the conference sessions, moderate panels and more.
Women in Tech Awards
I helped launch PCR’s annual Women in Tech awards event, acting as host, interviewing the winners and helping to arrange the day, as well as running content around it. Other events at Intent Media I worked on included the MCV Awards and PCR Awards.
Esports in Education Summit
I have spoken about collegiate esports at several of these annual events for lecturers and education leaders. I’ve moderated panels regarding the British Esports Student Championships for schools and colleges, and have asked teachers, students and others for their views live on stage.
The British Esports Federation held its first conference event in partnership with AoC Sport in 2019.
You can watch the latest collegiate esports panel I moderated in 2022 above.
Other events and talks and press interviews
I’ve spoken at many other conferences over the years, including Pocket Gamer Connects, I’ve given talks at schools about esports and once chaired a panel session to a room full of games PRs.
I’ve also reported live from many events, from the League of Legends World Championship quarter finals in London, to Insomnia Gaming Festivals, Intel Extreme Masters and lots more.
Sometimes I’ll be the one answering questions instead of asking them too. Here are some pieces of content where I was interviewed by someone else:
- BT Sport Takeover
- On gaming houses in the UK & British Esports: Podcast with Excel Esports
- CA.com interview on grassroots esports
- Working in esports podcast with Endpoint
- See more press coverage I helped secure for the British Esports Association here
